Ma Yu (year of birth and death unknown), styled Yizhi, nicknamed Huafa Xianren, nicknamed "Ma Qingchi", was born in Jiading (now Shanghai). In the eighth year of Tianshun Jiashen (1464 A.D.), he was a Jinshi, and he was an official to the head of the Ministry of Punishment. Able to write poems, good at calligraphy, and good at landscape.
